Instructions
The Schedule for the Sunday Coffee Hour Program for the new year will be sent each December via the Church Bulletin. This listing may include dates in need of a Sunday Hostess, which we hope will cause some of you to get involved. Usually the Schedule mirrors the previous year, with the exception of changes affected by the number of Sundays in each month, rotating year to year. If your scheduled date is inconvenient, please try to trade your date with someone, and let know your Monthly Hostes (at least two week’s notice). In addition, the Monthly Hostess will call you the month prior to your scheduled date as a reminder. Also, check the Monthly Schedule included in the Church Bulletin each week.
The procedures along with the diagram are posted in the Kitchen and are listed below:
- Bring at least three plates of finger food, such as sweets, cheese and crackers, fruits, vegetables, etc.- -you may coordinate with your co-hostess(es). Please be mindful of Fasting days.
- Bring your food ready to serve, or you may use the serving plates available in the Church Kitchen. Please take your plates and leftovers home on the same day that you serve.
- Leave the food covered in the Kitchen until after Communion.
- After Communion, come to the Church Hall and arrange the food on the serving table(s), add two large bowls of ice for the punch and check to be sure that everything is ready. Diagrams and instructions are posted in the Kitchen.
- One Hostess should serve the punch and the other two should stay near the serving table(s) to replenish or assist as needed.
- Our sexton, Predrag Iljic, prepares the coffee and the punch, sets up and tends to the Kitchen; but, please be as careful and tidy as possible. Predrag lives on the Church property and is available to help you; feel free to call Predrag at 306-9838 if you should need assistance.
Aside from the above, your Monthly Hostess will be sure that all is ready for you- -you might want to be sure that the coffee pots are turned on and the set-up is in place ( just to be safe).
